Town of Montrose Fatality Crash

January 7, 2021

At approximately 5:52 p.m., on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, along with Wisconsin State Patrol, Green County Sheriff’s Department, Belleville Police Department and Belleville Fire and EMS, responded to what was originally reported as a two-vehicle crash on STH 69, just west of the Village of Belleville, in the Town of Montrose. A third vehicle was later identified as being side-swiped by the at-fault vehicle several hundred feet before a head-on collision occurred.

The investigation determined that a 2001 Ford Escape, driven by Priscilla Langbehn of New Glarus, was traveling southbound on STH 69 in the northbound lanes when it clipped the rear driver-side tail light of a pick-up truck as the truck attempted to avoid collision. Per witnesses, the Ford Escape continued traveling in the wrong lane of traffic when it collided head-on with a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva, driven by Connie Derendinger of Monticello.
