Belleville's Kenna Edge goes up for a layup.

On Tuesday, December 22nd, the Belleville Girls Basketball team traveled to Shullsburg, which is the #6 rated team in Wisconsin in Division 5.

The Wildcats showed up with great determination to compete against the Miners for the entirety of the game. The Miners built a 6-point lead going into halftime but Coach Pharo said that he could see a lot of determination in his player's eyes and they came out in the second half and erased the deficit. Unfortunately, the game saw a big discrepancy in fouls, leading to three of Belleville's top players fouling out during regulation and one fouling out in overtime. With that being said, the Wildcats could not keep up the pressure during overtime and lost the game with a final score of 63-58.

Leading scorers for Belleville were Kenna Edge with 18 points, and this was also her first start on Varsity, Ava Foley with 14 points, and Alyssa Caskey adding 9 points to the Wildcat scoreboard.

The Wildcats continued their season with games on Monday, December 28th at Highland and Tuesday, December 29th at Edgerton.
