Donovan M. Boley

Donovan M. Boley, age 87, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, at his home. He was born on October 15, 1933, in the Town of Perry, Dane County, to his parents, Melvin and Amelia (Christianson) Boley.

Don graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1952. On August 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Charlain Buol at the St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Belleville, and the couple celebrated 64 years together. Don was a lifelong farmer and steward of the land. Don and Charlain enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and trips around the area for local fun. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Belleville.

Donovan is survived by his wife, Charlain; three sons, Donovan (Christine) Boley, Daniel (Debra) Boley, and Douglas (Candi) Boley; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He is further survived by his brothers, Robert (Gwen) Boley and Gary (Pat) Boley; sisters, Doris Paulson, Carol Grender, and Judith (Stanley) Barelmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe (Diane) Buol, John (Louella) Buol, and Jacob (Linda) Buol; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernus (Elaine) Boley and Milton (Jane) Boley; infant sister, Gladys; sister, Joyce (Darrell) Judd; brothers-in-law, Robert Grender, Otis Paulson, and Jerome (Marian) Buol; and sister-in-law, Elise Buol.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 338 S. Harrison Street, Belleville, WI, with the Rev. Michael Moon officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery, Belleville, WI. A visitation preceded the funeral mass from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Please follow current mask and social distancing guidelines.

The Becker-Beal Funeral Home of Belleville is assisting the family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. and Don Jr. for the kind and compassionate care that allowed Donovan to be at home.
