Kyle Webber, a School Counselor for the School District of Belleville, was recently honored with an "Extra Mile Award" from the Rainbow Project of Dane County. The Rainbow Project, a nonprofit organization, provides therapy services for families and children dealing with trauma. Each Fall, The Rainbow Project hosts a large event called "Rhumba 4 Rainbow" as a fundraising event to increase awareness about their work and mission. It is also an event where the organization honors individuals, who they have worked with, who have demonstrated that they have truly gone the "extra mile" in helping kids and families.

Kyle Webber, a School Counselor for the School District of Belleville, was recently honored with an "Extra Mile Award" from the Rainbow Project of Dane County.

This year's "Rhumba 4 Rainbow," which normally boasts an evening of dancing and socializing in addition to their fundraising efforts, was held virtually through a webinar during which Mr. Webber's efforts were recognized! Mr. Webber was nominated by Christina Frank, one of The Rainbow Project's Child and Family Therapists, who has provided services in the Belleville School District. During the presentation of his award, Ms. Frank discussed Mr. Webber's strengths and efforts to give his students and families his best.

"In rural settings, resources are often stretched thin, and it can be a challenge to build trust in the few mental health services offered. You would not know any of this if you watched Kyle work. Kyle uniquely excels at creating deep and meaningful connections quickly with children and families. His strengths of kindness, patience, humor and advocacy shine through in every interaction with families, colleagues and community members," said Ms. Frank.

The Rainbow Project recognizes how important the school system is in helping foster an environment that benefits children's health and wellbeing. Mr. Webber's efforts, as part of this system of excellence, have not gone unnoticed. The School District of Belleville joins The Rainbow Project in further congratulating Kyle Webber on his great work!
