Coach Mark Olson congratulated Peter Gustafson and presented him with an award for reaching over 1,000 career points on December 3, 2020.

The Warriors did hold a lead twice during the first half, but the Ponies scored 9 points in a row to take the lead by 5 points with less than 8 minutes to go in the first. Black Hawk had the score tied up 20-20 shortly afterwards, but Monticello went on a 19-3 run to close out the half.

"It was a physical game, and we were able to get them in a little foul trouble," said Coach Mark Olson. "We took advantage of that at the free throw line to help us stretch the lead late in the first half. We played a solid second half and were able to come away with a conference win against a tough opponent."

Leading the Ponies with 29 points and 4 rebounds was Peter Gustafson, who was 11-15 from the free throw line, while Tristin Flanagan scored 13 points and pulled down 8 rebounds, Owen Ace scored 9 points and had 4 rebounds and Rudy Wicker put 6 points on the board.

Monticello hosted Belmont on December 15th, will play at Argyle on December 17th, will host Randolph in the Elmer Lemon gym on December 21st and on December 29th will play at Deerfield.
