Lady Knights Lose to Marshall, Defeat Cambridge

The New Glarus Lady Knights hosted Marshall on December 8th. Down by 17 at the half, New Glarus couldn't catch back up and lost the game. The final score was Marshall 70, New Glarus 42.
"Second game in a row vs a #1 ranked team; this time #1 in Division 4, our conference favorite Marshall. As a team we talk about and understand playing games against great competition is how you continue to improve and prepare for a post season run," commented Coach Kevin Parman. "Marshall is a very talented team lead by 2 D1 committed players. We have areas to improve but overall I'm happy with our growth."
Jaylynn Benson and Emma Marty both put 10 points on the board to lead the team in scoring, while Lindsey Schadewalt scored 8 points.
On December 11th, the team hosted Cambridge. New Glarus led at the half, 32-27, and outscored the Cambridge team 24-8 in the second half to win the game. The final score was New Glarus 56, Cambridge 35.
"Senior Night! It was great to honor our seniors with a W. We started out a little slower than we would like but our continued pressure and tempo proved to be too much for them!" said Coach Parman. "Thank you, Seniors, for all of your efforts and for being the perfect role models for our future Lady Knights."
Leading the team with 25 points was Jaylynn Benson, who was 3-3 from the free throw line. Grace Nommensen put 8 points on the board and Lindsey Schadewalt chipped in 7.
The Lady Knights played at Lodi on December 14th. They will host Edgewood on December 17th, Mineral Point on December 21st and Lakeside Lutheran on December 28th.
