After a great deal of consideration, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020, we have decided to cancel our yearly Feather Party/Bingo fundraiser normally held in November. In over 70 years of supporting this event this will be the first cancellation, we believe. Warm weather, rain, heavy snow, ice storms, blizzards in the past did not have the power to cancel this event.

Three things were considered in this decision. First and foremost was the safety of our devoted supporters over the years. We could not in good faith ask the public to attend this crowded event. We want all of you to remain healthy and well for years to come.

Second, there are so many business owners who donate generously every year to us with money, products, and services, we don’t feel comfortable asking for donations this year when we know everyone has experienced economic hardships.

Third, the local business owners from Attica, Monticello, New Glarus, Verona, Paoli, Basco, Oregon, Dayton and Belleville have supported us, and now maybe we can return that support by shopping locally as much as we can. Please also support your local Fire Department, Community Club organizations and Senior Center, along with the area churches, as much as you are able. Every dollar spent locally will help strengthen your community.

Duppler-Smith Post #460 American Legion will try to hold a raffle later this fall if at all possible, for our only fundraiser event. More information to follow.
