PFC Tyler M. Varney, 20, of Belleville, WI, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on April 24, 2020. PFC Varney successfully completed 13 weeks of basic training at MCRD San Diego, Mike Company, as one of 81 recruits in Training Platoon 3266.

While in recruit training, PFC Varney achieved Fireteam Leader and Shot Expert on the range. PFC Varney reported directly to Camp Pendleton, where he is currently Squad Leader of the 52 Area Interior Guard. He will begin Infantry Training Battalion mid-June and after completion he will transfer to Quantico, Virginia, where he will train for his MOS in Security Forces.
