Mrs. Kuenzi Receives Husband’s Citation
Mrs. Otto Kuenzi has received a copy of a Citation For a Bronze Star Medal, awarded her husband for heroic action in Sicily in 1943. Sgt. Kuenzi was killed in Belgium in September after taking part in the war in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Belgium.
The citation says, “Otto A. Kuenzi, Co. I, 16th. Infantry. For heroic achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy in the vicinity of Troina, Sicily August 4-6, 1943. Despite almost insurmountable obstacles of rocky, coverless terrain and intense enemy fire directed by...
