March 26, 2020

Age: 75

Occupation: Retired from teaching at Belleville

Years lived in village: 50

Incumbent? No

Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: I have twice served as Village President and several terms as trustee. Since the mid-eighties I have served on the following Village committees: Police, Economic Development, Save the Lake, Lake Fund, Finance & Personnel, Public Works & Parks, Planning Commission, Emergency Management and Library Strategic Planning. I am presently on the Planning Commission and Emergency Management Committees.

Why are you running for village board? I previously served in Village elected offices and after taking a break have decided I want to again take an active role as an elected official. I believe my experience in Village government will allow me to immediately become an active participant. I do my homework for a meeting and I'm usually able to contribute to how an issue might be managed. At the same time experience has taught me that it is important to listen to ideas and suggestions from others.

What issues do you find most important to the village board? List your top three priorities: The primary issue is to minimize property tax increases while keeping village personnel and maintaining the infrastructure we presently have. It is also important to make improvements where needed.

If you could reverse one village action, what would that be? I have no issues with what the Village government is presently doing or has done in the past.

Any additional comments? We are in a favorable position for growth because we have residential and business properties available. In addition, our water and sewage systems have already been improved to meet the needs of future growth. Development is what we need to help keep the Village property tax increases to a minimum.
