Attendance was restricted at the Regional Game at Edgewood last Thursday due to COVID-19 concerns. Even with the restrictions, the Monticello Pony fans that could go to the game cheered on their team. When the bus with the players left Monticello, there were fans on Main Street with signs and cheers for the Ponies. On Friday it was announced that all games, including Sectional Finals for Boys Basketball and Championship games for Girls Basketball, were cancelled.

The Monticello Ponies bid for a longer post-season was stopped short by the Randolph Rockets on Thursday, March 12th, at Edgewood High School. At one point the game was tied, but Randolph pulled away early and was leading 38-25 by halftime. The Ponies never backed down throughout the second half, but Randolph didn't either and the Ponies lost by 22 points. The final score was Randolph 76, Monticello 54.

Reece Rufer led the Ponies with 21 points and 4 rebounds while Peter Gustafson scored 17 points and had 6 rebounds and Owen Ace and Simon Blohowiak both put 6 points on the board, with Blohowiak pulling down 5 rebounds.

Two Ponies players have been named to the 2020 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 5 Boys Basketball All-State Team. Peter Gustafson, who averaged 20.7 points per game this season, was named to the team, while Reece Rufer was an honorable mention selection.
