Belleville Library Closure

March 19, 2020

Belleville Public Library will close at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, March 16, and remain closed at least through Sunday, April 5. The closing date was moved up from March 19th in response to the announcement on March 15th that all Dane County schools would be closing immediately.

The coronavirus COVID-19 situation will be monitored closely and further updates will be provided if these plans change.

This decision was not made lightly. The scientific community agrees that “social distancing” is an important factor in preventing the spread of COVID-19. While we value serving as a community gathering space, at this time that is precisely what we should not be doing. We are taking this precautionary step on behalf of our patrons, staff, and the community during this pandemic.

During the closure, we ask that patrons not return items, as our book drop will be locked. Any fines accrued during the closure will be waived when we reopen. Items on our hold shelf will remain available when the library reopens.

Although patrons are not able to visit the library, many library resources can come to you 24/7 at http://www.bellevillelibrary-wi.org. Checkout eBooks and eAudiobooks with Overdrive or the Libby app. Learn a language with Transparent Languages. Find picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels at Tumblebooks. Browse a wide variety of historical, business, consumer, and other research databases.
