New Glarus Student's Experience Living and Studying in Germany

Imagine leaving your family, friends and everything that you are familiar with to live and study abroad for a year

Max's family and his host family celebrated German traditions at a Christmas market. Max Xistris-Songpanya, a junior at New Glarus High School, enjoyed the opportunity of a lifetime by studying abroad in Germany while in high school.

Study abroad programs highlight that, "a year abroad will help you step out of your comfort zone - gaining a better sense of self and of your place in the world."

Max said that he first started thinking about studying abroad when his brother was studying in Germany.
