Belleville's Sophia Grady (#14) takes a shot vs Waterloo on Parent's Night.

On Tuesday, January 28th, Belleville girls basketball hosted the Waterloo Pirates. This was also Parent's Night for the Wildcats. The first half saw the game with Waterloo to be a rather close contest, with Belleville going into the locker room with a 32-27 lead. After halftime, Waterloo came out with great intensity and took a 2-point lead early in the second half. After this, Coach Pharo called a time out and changed the defense which allowed the Wildcats to go on a nice run which led to them winning the game 66-48.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by Callie Smith with 19 points and a total of 12 rebounds, Jenna Shrader with 12, and Sophia Grady with 10 points.

Coach Pharo commented, "Very happy with our four seniors on this night as Jenna, Erin, Sophia, and Ella all played very well."

Then on Friday, January 31st, the Wildcats hosted two-time defending state champions Marshall. On this night, Marshall came out on fire and their coach Doug Pickarts commented that it was one of their better games of the season. It also didn't help that the Wildcats were short-handed on this night due to one of their starting point guards being out to illness. By the time halftime rolled around, Marshall was up 49-15 and saw the final score be 70-33.
