Monticello senior Reece Rufer scored his 1,000th career point in the January 2, 2020 game. The Ponies won the game against Brodhead by a score of 87-67.

According to Coach Mark Olson, Rufer went into the game needing 21 points to reach the 1,000. He finished the game with 22 points, scoring the 1,000th career point with 2:10 left in the game.

Rufer was presented with a commemorative basketball at the January 6th game against Belleville.
