Julia Gempeler and Ken Gempeler accepted the awards Gempeler's Supermarket earned at the 80th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP) in early April. Gempeler's Alpine Boy™ brand earned Reserve Grand Champion for their Precooked Wisconsin Style Bratwurst, Precooked Veal Sausage and Beef Strips. They also received the Honorable Mention for their Precooked Hawaiian Bratwurst and six more entries were ranked in the top ten in their respective product categories.
Monticello Prom was held on May 4, 2019. Prom King was Devin Holtz. Prom Queen was Krystal Peterson. Class Inspiration Award was given to Joshua Baumgartner.
The Monticello Lions Club held Spring Fling on Saturday, May 18, 2019. There were many activities for everyone to enjoy.
The Monticello track team competed at the Warrior Outdoor event at Black Hawk High School on May 2nd. The men placed 6th in the meet and the women placed 4th.
The Monticello Varsity boys basketball team has been named as a top 3 Academic All-State Team, with a team GPA of 3.608. "Very proud of our team," said Coach Mark Olson. "Congratulations boys, keep working hard in both areas!"
Squad 4 Truck Captain Nate Willson of the Monticello Fire Department was awarded a commendation from Monticello Police Chief Conway for outstanding service to the citizens of the Village of Monticello.
The Monticello Ponies track team competed at the Six Rivers Conference Championship Meet held at UW-Platteville on Monday, May 13th. The men's team finished 5th at the meet while the women's team also finished in 5th place.
On Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., the graduation ceremony for the Monticello High School Class of 2019 was held in the Rehmstedt Gym. Student Comments were by Jarrett Long, Austin Koch and Abigail Wicker. The Main Speaker, selected by the Class of 2019, was School Board Member Becky Clark.
Nine graduates from the Class of 2019 received $2,000 scholarships from The Monticello Foundation, Inc. at the Senior Banquet held Wednesday, May 22, 2019. The scholarships were presented to Claire Klossner, Jennifer Curry, Hannah Zanow, Jeffrey Ace, Lexi Graber, Alyssen Noriega, Cole Femrite, Lindsey Pence and Andrew Eyler by Foundation President L. Linn Lederman. An additional $400 was awarded to Lindsey Pence, Jeffrey Ace, Hannah Zanow, Jennifer Curry and Andrew Eyler as a result of an optional interview selection.

The Monticello track team had four young ladies qualify for the state track meet in La Crosse in two different events. The 4x200M relay team of Hannah Clark, Ali Risley, Maggie Bak and Alyssen Noriega qualified for the finals on Friday, and on Saturday placed 5th, breaking their own school record with a time of 1:47.17, a time which would have won state in 2018.
Monticello's Dairy Queen crowning was held on Friday, June 14, at Zwingli UCC in Monticello. Rylee Disch, daughter of Ryan and Courtney Disch, was crowned 2019-2020 Monticello Dairy Queen.
The Apparitions MC held their 50th Anniversary Party Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Washington Reformation Church held its Music Festival on Thursday, July 4th. Along with music and food, there was a quilt raffle. On July 4, 1876, a celebration was held on the new foundation of Washington Church, including music and food.

Monticello Community Club presented the annual celebration in Monticello, that began on Friday evening, July 12th, and continued throughout the weekend. Monticello Homecoming is always a weekend full of great family friendly activities, wonderful food and fun. There was the fish boil, Chicken Bar-B-Que, mud volleyball, canoe races, volleyball, basketball, the motorcycle ride, softball, the Pony Run, firefighter water fights, Lions Club cheese curds, kids tractor pull, tug of war, the parade, brats, hot dogs, BBQs, and those luscious homemade pies donated by community members, the Homecoming Variety Show, the parade, and of course the always amazing fireworks.
On Friday, July 6th, the Freitag Farm hosted a family picnic to celebrate its 150-year history. Over the past two centuries, many words have been spoken and written about the Wisconsin Territory describing the land we call home. Eloquent and touching words all. From the Winnebagos, whose land this was before white settlement, passing down their verbal history and love of this land we call Green County. Just as the Winnebago did, the Freitag family is passing down its collective history to their fourth and fifth generations of the Freitag family who carry on the history and love of this land in the Town of Washington, just north of Monticello, on Hwy. 69.
The organizers from the Green County Fall Nationals donated six defibrillators to some local organizations, including the New Glarus School District, Monticello Police Dept., Belleville Police Dept., Belleville School District, Brooklyn Police Dept., and Juda School District. The group has also provided financial support to individuals who have suffered hardship or tragedy.
