Free Bluebird House Building Workshop
November 14, 2019
A free Bluebird House Building Workshop is scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., at the New Glarus High School Commons, located at 1701 2nd Street in New Glarus. The Town of New Glarus Parks Commission is sponsoring this workshop as part of its ongoing educational outreach program. The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning more about attracting wild birds to their property.
Materials will be provided. With the exception of the nails, all the material is recycled and has been donated by Federal Industries in Belleville. The material has been carefully cut and sized to minimize waste. To ensure that we have enough tools on hand, participants who want to build a bluebird house must bring their own hammer.
Our special guest speaker will be Kim Tschudy, local resident and historian. Mr. Tschudy will speak on bluebird habitat, what one can do to help build a thriving bluebird population in Green County, and how to build safe bluebird houses and properly place them for the best results.
Space for this workshop is limited. Please RSVP at https://bit.ly/2qHNNHr to make sure there are enough materials to go around.
The Parks Commission is also looking for volunteers to help with activities planned for the 175th Anniversary of New Glarus. Please contact Pattie Salter at (608) 527-2390 or psalter@townofnewglarus.com to find out more. Watch the Town website https.townofnewglarus.com for notices and then plan to attend a meeting to learn more about this fun group.
