Dane County Farmers' Market to Move its Late Winter Market to Garver Feed Mill in 2020

October 31, 2019

The beginning of the new decade will bring changes to the Dane County Farmers’ Market. While locals and visitors alike have probably visited the Market around the Capitol Square during its outdoor season, many have not yet experienced the indoor farmers’ markets offered during the winter season. These markets are more intimate, but patrons will still find many of their favorite Dane County Farmers’ Market members, as well as a full array of Wisconsin fruits and vegetables, cheeses, honey and maple syrups, hyper-local meats, bakery items, and many specialty items.

Beginning on Saturday, January 4, 2020, and running each Saturday thru April 4, 2020, the Dane County Farmers’ Market will host its weekly Late Winter Market at the newly renovated Garver Feed Mill, located at 3241 Garver Green, Madison, from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.

“Garver Feed Mill honors Madison’s rich agricultural history in its mission and vision as a next-generation food production facility and hub for local and artisan foods, so of course, it is a great fit as the home of the Dane County Farmers’ Market Late Winter Market,” says Market Manager Sarah Elliott. “We want to thank the Madison Senior Center for serving as our late winter home for the past sixteen years. They have been a wonderful partner, but we simply have outgrown the space.”

The final outdoor Market of the 2019 season is Saturday, November 16, 2019. The final Wednesday Market of the season is Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Beginning on Saturday, November 23, 2019, the Dane County Farmers’ Market moves indoors to the Monona Terrace. Please visit the Holiday Market from 7:30 a.m. to Noon on 11/23/19, 12/7/19, 12/14/19 and 12/21/19. There is no market the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

About Garver Feed Mill

The recently opened Garver Feed Mill, located behind Olbrich Botanical Gardens, is a storied landmark replete with history, character, and purpose. The iconic turn-of-the 20th century building is now home to several locally owned businesses, including Nessalla Kombucha, Kosa Ayurvedic Spa, Sitka Salmon Shares, Ian’s Pizza, Calliope Ice Cream, Perennial Yoga, Surya Vegan Café, Briar Loft, Twig & Olive Photography, Ledger Coffee Roasters and Underground Catering.
