The Amazing Power of 100 Extraordinary Women

What can 100 Extraordinary Women do together? Celebrating the power of working together to create a "caring community, housing for all" on September 12, 2019, Home of Our Own ("HOOO") hosted a gala at Bailey's Run Vineyard & Winery in New Glarus. One hundred women, each donating $1,000 to the project, enjoyed wine, appetizers, live music and a silent auction. Proceeds from this event helped HOOO reach its 2019 fundraising goal of $300,000. Channel 3 News Anchor Charlotte Deleste gave a personal and moving keynote speech.
Fundraising goes towards the capital campaign to build "Prairie Haus," a 40-unit rental community which will break ground next month on Elmer Road in New Glarus. Prairie Haus will provide homes for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, working adults, and active seniors.
