Wildcats Upended by Cardinals

October 3, 2019

The Belleville Wildcat Football team was beaten on Friday night for only the second time this season. The defeat this time coming at the hands of a very determined Marshall Cardinal team, 13-7.

The Cardinal defense kept the Wildcats off balance all night and registered six sacks of Belleville quarterback JJ Wenger. Both teams struggled to move the ball, but the Cardinals were able to find the end zone twice, the first on a Dylan Horstmeyer in the first quarter and then on a plunge by Jack Moen in the third. The Wildcats lone score came on a 60-yard Wenger run right before the half.

The Wildcats (4-1, 1-1) will head to Cambridge (5-1, 2-0) this Friday for a very important Capitol South game. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
