LEON E. HUSTAD

Leon E. Hustad, age 83, died on January 25, 2019, at his home. Born on December 28, 1935, in Madison, WI, preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Evelyn Hustad (Anderson); and his older brother, Alton.
The Hustad family grew up farming in Riley/Pine Bluff, WI, and raised prized Polled Herefords. Leon served our country in the US Army and National Guard.
Survivors include his sister, Eleanor Erdevig; five sons, Lee, Dan, David, Douglas and Joel Hustad; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Leon was a master of construction trades, and a Superintendent of iconic commercial buildings in Madison and the Midwest. He practiced real estate in many States, founded and taught the Las Vegas School of Real Estate, NV, and taught at Palm Beach State College, FL, until his death. His favorite hobby was dog handling and breeding of Siberian Huskies in WI, or Norwegian Lundehunds in FL. He enjoyed running WI college/international wrestling meets as a USA FILA pairings official, serving as treasurer for the UW-Madison college Weigh-in Club, giving wise counsel to his sons, playing Risk, watching Western movies, hunting and fishing, and lived by the mottos of "do your best and become the best" and "never quit".
Services will be held at the Mount Horeb Union Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019, with 3:00 p.m. Reception at the VFW, 2787 Erbe Road, Blue Mounds, WI.
