Alphornman Triathlon Raises Over $4,000 for Youth Recreation and Sports Activities

The New Glarus Alphornman Sprint Triathlon & AlphornKids Splash ‘N Dash was held on Sunday, August 4, and was a big success, raising over $4,000 for youth recreation and sports activities in the New Glarus area! Over 140 triathletes, ages 6 to 73, participated in the event. A big thank you goes to the over 100 volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly. Thanks also to the “real” Alphornmen, who gave the participants a short concert to start the event.
We’re very grateful to all the local sponsors of the race, which included New Glarus Brewery, Brenda’s Blumenladen, Railroad St. Boutique and Kinderladen, Roy’s Market, Tofflers, Landmark Creamery, Country View Veterinary, Casey’s General Store, State Bank of Cross Plains, Hutch + Hide, New Glarus Chamber of Commerce, Hometown Auto, Ashdon Builders, Colony Brands, Wrecktify, New Glarus Utilities, New Glarus Home, Esther’s European Imports, Unwin Chiropractic, Chalet Landhaus, Mosher & Associates, Bank of New Glarus/Sugar River Banks, Subway, LSM Chiropractic, and Glarner Stube.
A number of the triathletes also attended the Volksfest celebration, thanks to free admission as a participant of the triathlon. Thank you Volksfest!
