Belleville Community Picnic

Belleville’s annual Community Picnic will be held from August 8-11, 2019, at Sugar River Park, with some events being held at Community Park.
Thursday, August 8th, has been designated Family Night/Glow Night. Bingo, Kids Inflatables and Backyard Games from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m .; Havens Petting Farm (sponsored by the Forever 56 Foundation) and Adult Kickball from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m .; an Open Cornholio Tournament begins at 7:00 p.m .; Community Park will host Co-Ed Softball, the Turtle Stand opens and Fireworks will begin at dusk (rain date for the fireworks is Sunday, August 11th).
On Friday, August 9th, Kids Inflatables, Havens Petting Farm (sponsored by the Forever 56 Foundation) and Backyard Games will run from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m .; Adult Kickball is from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., the Turtle Stand will be open, Men’s Softball will be played at Community Park and from 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m., Kings of Radio will be playing at the beer tent.
Start your day off right with breakfast from 7:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 10th. The 5K Run/Walk starts at 8:00 a.m., and Kid’s Kickball and Co-Ed Volleyball starts at 9:00 a.m., while the Bike Race begins at 9:30 a.m. Kid’s Inflatables from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m .; Havens Petting Farm (sponsored by the Forever 56 Foundation) from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m .; and Backyard Games run all day! Adult Kickball is at Sugar River Park and the Teen Bags Tournament begins at 5:00 p.m. At Community Park will be Co-Ed Softball and Men’s Softball. The Turtle Stand will be open as well. The Rib Contest also takes place on Saturday and is limited to the first 24 entries. The $25.00 entry fee covers one rack of ribs for judging and three racks of ribs for the People’s Choice Awards and a great time to be had by all! You may drop off your grill any time between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., and it must be removed immediately after the judging is finished. All four racks of ribs must be 100% cooked in the park during the contest; sauces may be prepared in advance. Judging is at 3:00 p.m., SHARP. Judges for this year’s contest will be Bob Page, owner of Bob’s Bitchin’ BBQ; Jeff Whitford, Head Chef at the Thirsty Goat; Keith or Erin Stoesz, Owners of North and South Seafood and Steakhouse; Mike Zieglemeier, Owner of Ziggy’s BBQ Smokehouse and Ice Cream Parlor; Scott Ringgenberg, Owner of The Dam Bar; and Pat Boersma, Owner of The Ale House. In the Beer Tent on Saturday, Chicken Truck will perform from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., and Madison County plays from 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. The Teen Dance DJ music will be provided by DJ Miles Fahey from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
On Sunday, August 11th, Ecumenical Worship will be held at First United Church of Christ, 130 E. Church Street, Belleville, at 10:00 a.m. The Duck Draw is at 10:00 a.m., while a Youth Football Combine will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The Car Show at Library Park (held rain or shine) is from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The classic country sounds of the Greenfield Brothers will be at the Beer Tent from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Havens Petting Farm (sponsored by the Forever 56 Foundation) and Kid’s Inflatables from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m .; Chicken BBQ Dinner starts serving at 11:30 a.m .; Backyard Games and the Turtle Stand will happen all day long; and the Co-Ed Cornholio Tournament starts at 1:00 p.m. The Zweifel Brothers Band will be performing polka at the Beer Tent from 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., and Ghosts in the Room will be playing classic rock in the Beer Tent from 7:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The Raffle Drawing is at the Main Stage at 6:00 p.m. The Co-Ed and Men’s Championship Softball games will both be played at Sugar River Park.
Lunch Stands will be open and beer will be served throughout the entire event at both Community Park and Sugar River Park.
