In August, local adults who are grieving can find hope and healing at the Agrace Grief Support Center, 2906 Marketplace Drive, Fitchburg.

Agrace will host three grief support programs: “Bridges,” “Summer Spouse/Partner Loss” and “LGBTQ Spouse/Partner Loss Group.” These programs provide emotional and peer support in a professionally led group setting.

Bridges is for adults grieving the death of any loved one. It meets on Wednesdays throughout the year, alternating between daytime and evening. In August, meetings are August 7 and 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and August 14 and 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants do not need to register in advance and are welcome to attend as often as they feel the need for support.

Summer Spouse/Partner Loss Support Group is for people grieving the death of their life partner. It meets August 13 and 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants do not need to register in advance and are welcome to attend as often as they feel the need for support.

LGBTQ Spouse/Partner Loss Group supports anyone who identifies as being a part of the LGBTQ community and is grieving the death of their life partner. It meets Wednesdays, August 21 through September 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interested participants are asked to pre-register by August 5 by calling (608) 327-7118.

Anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one can join an Agrace grief support group, even if the person who died was not a hospice patient. There are no fees for the programs if a participant’s family member was served by Agrace HospiceCare or another hospice in the past 12 months. Modest fees apply for others and fees can be lowered or waived, if needed. Visit agrace.org/griefgroups or call (608) 327-7118 for more information.
