Emil Mike Rufener, Monticello Legion Post #256 Commander, wants to say thank you to everyone who donated time and funds to their 2019 Poppy Fundraising Event for disabled veterans.

The 2019 Poppy Drive was a great success!

Rufener wants to say a special thank you to his daughter, Nancy Rufener, along with Joe Lehnherr, John Blumer, the 2019 Poppy Princess Keaton Marlys Karlen and her extended family: Jeff and Carolyn Ott Babler, Nettie Babler, Shawn Karlen and Angie Hartman. Also to Al Bacher, Pastor Lance Smith, Jules Capelle, Mary Davis, Casey’s General Store in Monticello, Gempeler’s Supermarket, Jim Schubert’s M&M Café, Hair Tek-Nique by Cindee and Shear Designs by Deb, the Monticello Fire Department and Spring Fling staff and to Sue Moen and Katie Pederson at the Post Messenger Recorder.

Mike also wanted to mention that Keaton Marlys Karlen is also the great-niece of Korean/Vietnam veteran Calvin and Virginia Drafahl.

But most of all, thank you and God Bless.
