Monticello Softball Update

On May 6th, the Monticello softball team hosted Pecatonica. The game was close throughout, but the Vikings managed to inch ahead just enough in the 5th and scored another run in the 7th to win the game, 7-10.

Monticello’s Sarah Blumer was 2x3 at bat while Claire Klossner was 2x4 at bat and Lexi Graber was 1x3 at bat.

Claire Klossner pitched 1/3 inning, giving up 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 errors, while Harley Disch pitched for 2 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and striking out 1 and Miah Brokopp pitched 4 innings, striking out 4 and giving up 3 runs on 1 hit.

On May 7th, the Ponies hosted Argyle. The game went into extra innings, but the Ponies lost when Argyle sent 4 runners over home plate in the 10th inning. The final score was Argyle 8, Monticello 4.

Alexa Siegenthaler was 1x3 at bat, while Claire Klossner, Miah Brokopp and Harley Disch were 1x4 at bat and Sarah Blumer, Hannah Zanow were 1x5 at bat.

Miah Brokopp pitched all 10 innings for the Ponies, where she struck out 5.

On May 11th, the Ponies played at the Juda Invite.

In game one, they played Warren-Stockton and lost 0-1.

Claire Klossner was 1x3 at bat while Jacy Rufer was 1x2 at bat.

Miah Brokopp pitched 7 innings, striking out 8.

In game two they played Racine Lutheran, losing 0-16.

Claire Klossner and Alexa Siegenthaler were both 1x2 at bat.

Harley Disch pitched 3 innings, giving up 11 runs on 12 hits and Miah Brokopp pitched 1 inning, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits.

The Ponies played at Barneveld on May 13th, hosted a double header against Black Hawk on May 14th. Monticello is seeded #10 in Division 5 and will play at #7 Southwestern on May 16th in a Regional Game.
