Belleville's Jaydon Winkers tags out Monticello/Albany's Trayden Foster, who was attempting to steal third.
On April 22nd, the Belleville Wildcats baseball team hosted Pecatonica, who is ranked #3 in Division 4. The final score was Pecatonica 9, Belleville 5, after the game was called after the 5th inning due to the weather.
"After allowing 7 runs in the first two innings, we fought back and scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning to put us right back in the game," said Coach Griffin Rear.
The top hitters for Belleville were Dylan Gratz, who was 2x2, Matt Hackman, who was 2x3 with 1 RBI and Carson Syse, who was 2x3 with 1 RBI.
Three pitchers shared the mound for the Wildcats. Jaydon Winkers pitched for 2 innings and struck out 1, Austin Fahey pitched for 3 innings and struck out 7 and Dylan Gratz pitched for .1 inning.
On April 23rd the Wildcats headed south to Monticello/Albany to face the Ponies, winning 8-4.
Luke Kelly was 3x4 at bat for the Wildcats, while Jaydon Winkers was 2x4 with 1 RBI and Trevor Syse was 2x4 with 2 RBI.
For Monticello/Albany, Cole Femrite was 2x2 at bat, Kollin Klitzke was 2x3 at bat with 1 RBI and Trayden Foster was 1x2 with 1 RBI. Josh Dahl, Corbin Kelley, Luke Johnson and Andy Eyler all scored runs for the Ponies.
Markus Markiewicz pitched for 3 innings for Belleville, while Trevor Syse pitched 3 innings and struck out 7 and Luke Kelly pitched 1 inning, striking out 1.
Monticello/Albany's Corbin Kelley pitched 5 innings, striking out 1 and Josh Dahl struck out 3 during his 2 innings on the mound.
On Friday, April 26th, the Wildcats hosted Dodgeville. The final score was Dodgeville 5, Belleville 4.
"We played well against Dodgeville, but a couple of miscues and extra opportunities for our opponents proved to be too much to overcome as we lost a very close game," said Rear.
Jaydon Winkers was 2x3 at bat for the Wildcats, while Kody Fahey was 2x4.
Austin Fahey pitched 5 innings, striking out 3, Jaydon Winkers pitched 1 inning with 1 strike out and Kody Fahey pitched for 1 inning striking out 3.
The Wildcats play at New Glarus on May 2nd, at Cambridge on May 3rd and at Marshall on May 6th.
