New Glarus Middle and High School FCCLA chapters attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Wisconsin Dells from Monday, April 8th-Wednesday, April 10th. There were a total of 16 students in attendance from New Glarus Middle and High School.
Over the course of three days, students attended breakout sessions, heard keynote speakers, gained leadership skills and competed in STAR Events. Kortney Peterson also represented as a Regional Representative, assisting with the behind the scenes of the conference. New Glarus was lucky enough to have our very own Haiden Zimmerman represent as the 2018-2019 Wisconsin FCCLA State President. We also were honored to have Abigail Marty be elected by fellow Wisconsin FCCLA members to become the 2019-2020 Wisconsin FCCLA Vice President of Competitive Events. New Glarus was fortunate enough to have Annelisa Smith, Keatan Zimmerman and Kortney Peterson as our voting delegates. We had great success from our chapters and the New Glarus School District is so proud of the following students who attended the State Leadership Conference, competed in their event and medaled: Sutton Zimmerman - Children's Literature, Wisconsin Top Gold; Bronwyn Mayhew - Culinary Creations (Cake Decorating), Gold; Tyler Durst - Culinary Creations (Cupcake Decorating), Gold; Kendra Wenger - Wild Game Fabrication, Silver; Abigail Marty - Career Investigation, Gold, National Qualifier; Isabella Mancusi - Chapter Service Project Display, Silver, National Qualifier; Megan Peterson - Chapter Service Project Display, Silver, National Qualifier; Melanie Fink - Chapter Service Project Display, Silver, National Qualifier; Alexa Thayer - Chapter Service Project, Silver; Kortney Peterson - Chapter Service Project, Silver; Annelisa Smith - Chapter Service Project, Gold, National Qualifier; Haiden Zimmerman - Chapter Service Project, Gold, National Qualifier; Keatan Zimmerman - Chapter Service Project, Gold, National Qualifier; Emma Holland - Focus on Children, Gold, National Qualifier; Deedra Delforge - Illustrated Talk, Gold, National Qualifier; Maddie Deegan - Recycle and Redesign, Gold.
