Dylan Gratz had 3 hits, 3 RBI and the walk-off to give the Wildcats a 6-7 win over New Glarus.
On April 9th, the Belleville Wildcats baseball team hosted the New Glarus Knights. The final score was Belleville 7, New Glarus 6.
"After allowing 5 runs off of 4 errors in the top of the 1st inning, our guys kept their focus, settled in, and grinded their way back into the game," said Coach Griffin Rear. "After tying the score in the bottom of the 6th inning and holding New Glarus scoreless in the top of the 7th, Dylan Gratz ended the game in walk-off fashion by hitting a ball to deep left-center field, scoring Luke Kelly. Even after our team's shaky start, Austin Fahey pitched extremely well, allowing only 2 of New Glarus's 6 runs to be earned and retiring the final 12 batters he faced."
Belleville's Jaydon Winkers was 3x4 at bat, while Dylan Gratz was 3x4 with 3 RBI and Trevor Syse was 2x4 with 2 RBI. Austin Fahey pitched 7 innings for the Wildcats.
For New Glarus, Holden Latsch, Ben Melvin, Carter Siegenthaler and Nathan Streiff were all 1x3 at bat with 1 RBI.
The Wildcats hosted Waterloo on April 16th, play at Mineral Point on April 18th, host Pecatonica on April 22 and play at Monticello on April 23rd.
