On March 16, 2019, the New Glarus Glarner Knights capped off the first visit to state in 87 years by winning the 2019 Division 4 State Championship! On Thursday, March 14th, the New Glarus boys basketball team encountered legions of fans lining Highway 69, including the New Glarus Area EMS, waving, holding signs, screaming and wishing them well on their way out of town to their semi-final game against Roncalli at the Kohl Center in Madison. Large signs, painted by the parents and fans of the players, lined the route to Madison.
