TERESA NICHOLS-TRACE
February 7, 2019
Teresa (Wuebben) Nichols-Trace, age 46 1/2, went home to eternal life on Friday, February 1, 2019. She was born on February 9, 1972, to Gerald and Donna Wuebben.
Teresa was raised in the Madison area, spending most of her childhood in Oregon where she graduated high school. She is an alumnus of UW-Whitewater, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management. Teresa had a distinguished career in human resources at CUNA Mutual Group and TDS Telecom. After 18 years in corporate roles, Teresa pursued her dream of being an entrepreneur and purchased a small custom embroidery and screen-printing business in her current hometown of Mount Horeb. Ultimately, Teresa decided to sell the business and retire in order to focus her attention on her health and her family.
When asked, Teresa would enthusiastically tell you the accomplishment in which she was most proud are her sons, Cade (20) and Gaven (16). She raised them to be great humans, first and foremost, putting other's needs ahead of their own. Simply said, they are the best sons a mom could ask for. If you spent any time with Teresa, you would quickly discover that she was happiest when her family was all together; especially enjoying time at their home on the lake in the north woods.
Teresa was lucky enough to be loved by two amazing men who became her husbands. Teresa married Don Nichols Jr. in October 1995, and Teresa would tell you he made her a better person because of his demonstration in humbleness and generosity. After his unexpected passing in 2005, Teresa later met and married Rich Trace in September 2008, and blended their families to become a family of five, taking Kyle Trace as her heart son. Together, Rich and Teresa enjoyed adventures in travel and what never seemed to be a dull moment. Teresa would tell you that living with Rich was always an adventure and he taught her to live life to the fullest.
In 2017, Teresa was blessed with a grandson, Henry, whose smile and giggle brings light to all situations.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Rich; sons, Cade, Gaven, and Kyle; grandson, Henry; mother, Donna Wuebben; brothers, Chad (Cari Fuss) Wuebben and Eric (Jen) Wuebben; in-laws, Shana Wuebben, Agnes Trace, Tim (Ruti) Trace, Randy and Jeanne Rogers, Don (Wendy) Nichols Sr., Amy (Don) Moss, and Nicole (John) Gentry-Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Don Nichols Jr .; father, Gerald Wuebben; and father-in-law, Richard Trace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Blackhawk Church, 9620 Brader Way, Middleton, on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Matt Metzger presiding. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
After 16 years, Teresa did not lose the battle with cancer. In eternity, cancer/death do not win; Jesus does. Even if our circumstances aren't good, His purpose always is.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teresa's family to be used for a Mount Horeb High School scholarship in her name.
Teresa's family would like to thank the Agrace HospiceCare angels Tammy, Bri and Angie, for their exceptional care and compassion.
