Monticello Lions Fisheree

February 7, 2019

On Sunday, January 27th, the Fisheree was held on Lake Montesian. We had plenty of ice and cold weather, but sunny. The enclosed shelter was nice and toasty. The winners of the raffle were: 1st Place, Karin Daane of Oregon, WI; 2nd Place, Heather Reichling of Monticello; and 3rd Place, Brie Graber of Monticello. The Lions Club thanks everyone who supported this raffle. There were also many door prizes that were won that day.

The Green County Conservation League reported that Brooke Ryan won for the smallest fish, a 4 1/2 oz bluegill, and Noah Ziperski won for the biggest bluegill, the biggest crappie and the biggest fish overall. What a day of fishing for him! There were also 10 fish prizes given to the youth compliments, of Wal-Mart and Farm & Fleet.

The Monticello Lions wish to thank Mark Hellenbrand for the use of a port-a-pot and Ken Risley for the use of two stoves and pellets. They did a good job keeping the shelter warm. We would also like to thank all local businesses for their donations for the door prizes. The Lions appreciate your support.
