Mrs. Tidd, Guidance Counselor at New Glarus Elementary School, was given a Community Foundation EIE grant to complete a blanket project for victims of natural disasters or other emergencies. The fourth and fifth graders created Blankets of Compassion and voted to send them to California to help victims of the wildfires. Kevin Lynch, parent and State Farm agent, organized and helped out with the shipping of more than six boxes of blankets out west.
Positive lessons on empathy and compassion were learned by our students. Thanks to Kevin Lynch, our community, families, and students for your support of this special project!
