Holmes' Grateful for EMS Service
December 20, 2018
Dear Editor,
In this season of giving, many of us are especially attuned to those who have given so much to the rest of us during the last year. While we have been grateful to those who generously give of their time and talent to see to it that the New Glarus area has a very capable EMS program, our gratitude has grown exponentially in the last month. In the past when we heard the siren, we listened with dread as we worried about who had need for the services. Never had we found the need to call for their help. That all changed this last month when we had need to call for them three different times. When you find yourself in the lonely position of being alone with someone who needs emergency assistance, the whale of that siren sounds like music. The generosity of those who provide the service is beyond measure. Because of privacy laws they do not even get the gratification of knowing the outcome of their efforts. The professionalism with which they carry out their duties is impressive. We encourage you to join us in thanking those who give so freely of their time when it may be very inconvenient for them. What would we do if they did not choose to use their time in this way? They are indeed among our many blessings.
Carol and Bob Holmes,
New Glarus
