Santa is Coming to Monticello

December 6, 2018

Santa Claus is coming to town! Santa will make his annual pre-Christmas visit to Monticello on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Monticello Fire Station from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Treats will be served and the fire department will be collecting food, new toys, new mittens and gloves for the Monticello Empty Stocking. When they’re done visiting with Santa and giving him their lists, the kids can ride a fire truck to Santa’s Workshop at Zwingli Church to shop for family members and then ride back to the fire station to meet back up with their parents.

While Santa greets the children there and hears their wishes for Christmas, his elves are working hard to set up a special shop for the children to buy gifts for their family members. Santa’s Workshop increases in popularity each year, and this year looks to be every bit as exciting and well-attended, but it can’t happen without your help.

As always, Santa’s elves look to the local community for donations of small gift items that the children can “buy” for their parents and siblings and grandparents. The Monticello National Honor Society has graciously taken over as Santa’s lead elves this year, but donations can be handled the same as in past years. If you have any new or like-new items to donate, please feel free to drop them off at either church, Washington UCC or Zwingli UCC, or during business hours at Tri-Insure at 145 N. Main Street, Monticello.

Since our elves help wrap every gift, wrapping paper, gift bags and tissue paper are also appreciated!
