Update From 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen

November 8, 2018

Hello! My name is Sarah Blumer, and I am the 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen. My parents are Ron and Jen Blumer.

With the holiday season approaching, I would like to share some ideas on how you can incorporate dairy products in your favorite festivities, celebrations, and family gatherings.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it gives me an opportunity to reflect on the blessings in my life and to give thanks for my family, friends, and the harvest. This year I am especially thankful for the privilege of serving as Monticello's Dairy Queen.

There are many ways to incorporate dairy products in your Thanksgiving meal. A cheese tray is a great addition to any Thanksgiving table. Enhance the flavor of your mashed potatoes by adding butter and heavy cream when you mash them. Pumpkin pie is a staple at Thanksgiving. Be sure to garnish your pumpkin pie with real whipped cream. If serving apple pie is a Thanksgiving tradition at your home, top each piece with a slice of cheddar cheese.

I am looking forward to continuing to share my love for Green County and the agricultural industry throughout my year as Monticello's Dairy Queen. If you have a community event that you would like me to attend as a representative of the Green County Ag Chest, please contact me at sjblumer@icloud.com.
