Dear Editor,

October 11th was the date for Mr. Barlow’s Wine Walk. This event was sponsored by the Friends of the Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum and New Glarus Vision, Inc. We had a wonderful turnout and want to express our appreciation to the following businesses for hosting our walkers that night: Rusty Raven, The Bramble Patch, Brenda’s Blumenladen, Edelweiss Cheese Shop, Esther’s European Imports, Sisters, Hawk’s Mill Winehaus, Hutch + Hide, Lollygag Antiques, Maple Leaf Cheese & Chocolate Haus, New Glarus Bakery, Railroad Street Boutique, Ruef’s Meat Market and the Sugar River Shoppe. We’d also like to acknowledge Hawk’s Mill Winehaus, Bailey’s Run, Southern Italy Imports and Maple Leaf Cheese & Chocolate Haus for providing the wonderful assortments of wine for the occasion. We so appreciate the support of New Glarus Vision Inc., Chalet Landhaus, New Glarus Hotel, Bank of New Glarus and staff of the New Glarus Village Hall and New Glarus Chamber of Commerce for providing door prizes, goodie bags and for their help and advice along the way.

To the many folks who browsed through the museum that night, your support and enthusiasm for the Chalet and her collection was wonderful to see and it has reaffirmed our believe that our effort to keep the Chalet operating as a museum is truly a worthwhile endeavor.

As the Friends complete our sixth year of operations, I’d like to acknowledge the wonderful volunteers who have provided their time as greeters and guides, maintenance staff, advisors, gardeners and for their help with publicity and marketing efforts. I consider myself very fortunate to work with such a dedicated group of individuals.
