Ponies Have Winning Week, Move on to Tournament Play

The Monticello volleyball team played at the Deerfield Quad on October 9th and went 3-0.
Coach Rebecca Gustafson said that it was a balanced night attacking, with great team effort. "We had a great night. Everyone got some playing time, and came out with three wins. Such a fun team."
Alyssen Noriega led the team in digs in all three games, Lindsey Pence served consistently with the most attempts and Hannah Zanow had the most aces for the evening.
On October 11th, the Ponies hosted Juda, winning in three, 25-10, 25-22, 25-12.
Hannah Zanow had 11 kills, 3 aces and 10 digs. Mackie Errthum had 7 kills, Abby Wicker had 2 blocks, Lindsey Pence had 23 assists, Alyssen Noriega had 11 digs and Claire Klossner had 9 digs.
Monticello, who is seeded #6 in tournament play, hosted #11 Faith Christian on October 16th. The winner of that game will play the winner of the #3 Black Hawk vs #14 Albany game on October 18th.
