The Belleville Wildcats football team traveled to Wisconsin Dells on Thursday, August 30th, and after a 21-0 halftime lead, won the game, 35-6.

Coach Chase Ritter explains, "Another great win as a team. We started the game with a big 72-yard touchdown pass from Nate Mabis to Isaac Morrick. The Defense stepped up the next drive with Dylan Gratz making a strip sack and Jared Schulting scooping up the ball and returning for a touchdown. Defense continued to dominate throughout the game making big plays and forcing turnovers. Throwing for 240 yards and rushing for 231 yards, our offense was really balanced and executed effectively. Luke Kelly had a huge game on defense, shutting down a persistent passing game, with a large number of tackles, pass break-ups and an interception he kept their Offense in check. Our defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage on every snap and allowed our linebackers and secondary to make plays. It was a great game that we continued to learn and grow."

Quarterback Nate Mabis was 11-18 with three touchdowns and 240 passing yards. Mabis also led the team in rushing yards, with a total of 134, and one touchdown. Luke Kelly had 56 rushing yards, Sawyer Fahey had 52 rushing yards and Anthony Nolden had 4 rushing yards. Josh Grebel had five receptions for a total of 127 receiving yards, and scored two touchdowns. Isaac Morrick, who scored one touchdown, had 87 receiving yards and Jared Schulting had 20 receiving yards.

The Wildcats play at Nekoosa on September 7th. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
