To celebrate 20 years of Kinderchor, all past participants are invited to join in the celebration on Friday, August 31, 2018, for the Kinderchor concert and Laternenzug. The schedule is slightly different this year. The evening will start off with the Kinderchor concert and Swiss Miss dancers at the Swiss Church Lawn at 6:30 p.m. Please arrive by 6:15 p.m. Following the program at the church, the Lanternenzug will proceed through town. Please share this news with others.

Kinderchor was started in 1998, by Nancy Streiff and Kaye Gmur. Eventually Lynn Schwoerer took over for Nancy. A few years ago Kevin and Holly (Erickson) Lague took over and have continued the tradition. The Kinderchor has had some amazing opportunities. Along with entertaining at the local New Glarus Festival, the group traveled to Chicago several times over the years. One memorable trip was participating in Swiss Days at Daly Plaza. They painted a cow for a Swiss corporation. Other trips to Chicago included more concerts at Daly Plaza for Swiss National Day and Navy Pier for a seasonal Winterwonderland!

Kinderchor was established to help keep the strong Swiss singing tradition alive in our community and instilling a love of music in children. Please come out and join in or support the New Glarus Kinderchor on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Swiss Church lawn at 6:30 p.m.
