Edelweiss Chalet Country Club is celebrating an important milestone. In 1968, the golf course opened to the public for the first time. At that time, it was a 9-hole course. According to John Thompson, the golf course came about after a group got together and decided that New Glarus needed a recreation facility to enhance the quality of life for area residents, as well as bring in visitors.
