Jeffrey G. Marty, age 76, passed away at his home on June 7, 2018. He was born on May 25, 1942 in Monroe, the son of Garland and Harriet Marty.

Jeff graduated from New Glarus High School in 1960. As a student he was an athlete, and was a member of the conference championship basketball team. Jeff also was an Eagle Scout and lifeguard. After high school Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and then went on to work as a union carpenter until retirement. He was an avid Badger, Brewer, and Packer fan, he even attended the Super Bowl to watch his Packers. Jeff also enjoyed his time fishing at the cabin "Up North" and shot pool as the worst player on the best team for Sportsman's Bar. On May 28, 2005, he was united in marriage to the former Cheryl Miller.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Cheryl; son, Jay Marty; grandchildren, Jake and Elizabeth; step-sons, Shawn (Amy) Elmer, children Josie and Hayley; Jesse Elmer; and Jason (Mel) Elmer. He is further survived by other family and his faithful black lab, Roxy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Doris Miller; and canine companion, Anna.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Avenue, New Glarus, WI, with the Rev. William Wineke officiating. A gathering of relatives and friends will precede the memorial service from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home in New Glarus.
