Four Dead in Small Plane Crash

At approximately 12:00 p.m. on June 10th, the Green County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls advising that citizens had seen a plane in the sky lose altitude and crash.  The plane went down into an open field north of the Monroe Airport. It then crashed into a wooded area immediately north of the open field, and impacted with some trees.  Witnesses reported that the plane was on fire when it crashed.

The first responders on scene advised the plane was on fire and fully engulfed, and the Monroe Fire Department extinguished the flames.  Initial investigation revealed the pilo...
