KENNETH A. SMITH

June 7, 2018

Kenneth A. Smith, 73, of Prescott, AZ, formerly of Monroe and McFarland, WI, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Prescott. Kenny was born on September 8, 1944, in Monroe to Richard M. and Ruth Bissig Smith.

He attended Monticello and Monroe Schools, graduating from Monroe High School. After high school, Kenny proudly served his country in the Air Force, spending time stationed in Nova Scotia. After his discharge from the service Kenny attended Madison College, earning a degree in Accounting. He spent his professional years working for several businesses in the McFarland and Madison area, while raising his two boys. Kenny spent his retirement years living in the warmer Arizona weather, though he always kept track of the weather and news “back home” in Wisconsin.

Kenny was an avid sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, but his most serious sport love was for baseball. Kenny enthusiastically rooted for the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was always up-to-date on the latest MLB statistics, and had a passion for collecting sports memorabilia and trading cards.

Kenny’s greatest love was for his family.

Kenny will be missed greatly by his sons, Jeff (Karin) Smith of Trabuco Canyon, CA, and Brad (Nikki) Smith of Waterloo, WI; and his grandchildren, Jacob and Stephanie Smith, who he was very proud of. Kenny is further survived by his sister, Joanne McLelland of Sarasota, FL; his brother, Richard R. Smith of Monticello, WI; his half-sister, Deby Smith of Beloit, WI; and all of his nephews and nieces. Additionally, he will be missed by other relatives and his many dear friends, including Kim Ventress of Prescott.

Kenny’s values, wisdom, and laughter will live in our hearts forever.

It was Kenny’s wish to rest in peace at Highland Memory Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later time.
