Monticello Track Team Sends One to State

Alyssen Noriega (far right), a member of the Monticello Ponies track team, qualified for the State Track Meet at UW-La Crosse on June 1st and 2nd in the 200m dash.
On May 21st, the Monticello track team participated in the WIAA D3 Regional at Cuba City. The boys and girls both placed 9th.
Boys Results
In the 400m dash, Cade Femrite finished in 3rd place with a time of 55.41.
In the 800m run, Robert Burt placed 5th with a time of 2:09.49.
Rudy Wicker finished 2nd in the 1600m run with a time of 4:49.54.
In the 3200m run, Simon Blohowiak finished 8th with a time of 12:01.23, while Logan Blum finished 10th with a time of 12:06.43 and Sam Allard finished in 12th with a time of 12:57.85.
In the 300m hurdles, Cody Garfoot finished 10th with a time of 48.04.
The team of Cade Femrite, Cole Femrite, Cody Garfoot, Rudy Wicker and Robert Burt placed 5th in the 4x400 relay, with a time of 3:49.40.
In the shot put, Jarrett Long placed 18th with a throw of 29-00.50, while Peter Blumer placed 19th with a throw of 28-08.50 and Austin Blumer placed 23rd with a throw of 23-10.50. In the discus, Peter Blumer placed 14th with a final of 83-10, Jarrett Long placed 17th with a final of 75-08 and Austin Blumer placed 21st with a final of 63-01.
Girls Results
Alyssen Noriega finished 3rd with a time of 13.28 in the 100m dash. Noriega finished in 2nd place in the 200m dash with a time of 27.56.
In the 400m dash, Ali Risley finished in 8th place with a time of 1:10.27.
Mackie Errthum placed 3rd in the 800m run with a time of 2:44.46.
In the 300m hurdles, Maggie Bak finished in 5th place with a time of 55.27.
In the long jump, Courtney Kammes placed 4th with a jump of 15-00.00, while Natalie Roe placed 15th with a jump of 12-00.00.
In the discus event, Ali Risley placed 10th with a throw of 78-09.
The team participated in the WIAA D3 Sectional at Bangor on Thursday, May 24th. The boys team placed 29th and the girls team placed 24th.
Boys Results
In the 400m dash, Cade Femrite placed 11th with a PR time of 55.46.
In the 1600m run, Rudy Wicker placed 8th with a PR time of 4:51.12.
Girls Results
In the 100m dash, Alyssen Noriega placed 5th with a PR time of 12.97. Noriega placed 4th in the 200m dash with a PR time of 26.96.
In the long jump event, Courtney Kammes placed 11th with a PR of 14-06.75.
Alyssen Noriega is headed to the State Track Meet at UW-La Crosse for the first time in her high school career to compete in the 200m dash on June 1st and 2nd.
