Whipping Up Wellness Contest

From left: The team of Hailey Zuber, Alexa Thayer, Jaliyha Shanklin and Abby Marty were selected as a top five finalist team in the Whipping Up Wellness contest, a state-wide cooking competition through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The recipe they came up with is Very Veggie Lasagna.

In the Family and Consumer Sciences classroom at New Glarus High School, students in the Family, Food and Society course entered into a state-wide cooking competition through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as their final project in class. The culinary competition is called Whipping Up Wellness and is a competition where teams of middle and high school students were invited to develop a nutritious, student-friendly recipe that can be incorporated easily into the school food service program and used at home.
