Cast Members of "She Loves Me" Win Jerry Awards
May 31, 2018
The 2018 Jerry Award winners were recently announced. Among the winners were Annie Pollyea (Amalia Balash) for Outstanding Performance and Alexis Pinkston won the Spirit Award.
The Jerry Awards used to be known as the Tommy Awards. The name was changed to the Jerry Awards after S W. Jerome Frautschi. Frautschi and his wife commissioned the Overture Center and donated $205 million.
The Tommy Awards had been in existence since 2009, and were named after Tom Wopat.
The Jerry Awards, South-Central Wisconsin's High School Musical Awards program, encourages, recognizes and honors excellence in high school musical theater. Educators and industry professionals review productions at more than 80 high schools in 23 counties and provide valuable feedback.
School and student achievements are honored and featured in an award show held at Overture Center in June, and two outstanding performers advance to The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) competition in New York City.
