Alan W. Blum, age 58 of Monticello, died Friday, May 25, 2018, at Monroe Clinic Hospital with his family at his side. He was born on December 13, 1959 in Monroe, the son of William and Pauline (Krueger) Blum.

He graduated from Monroe High School in 1978, and attended UW-Madison for the Dairy Management Short Course. Alan married Renee Tourdot on September 19, 1987, in Monroe. Alan farmed for many years and then went to work in the Maintenance Dept. at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, where he has worked for the last 20 years. He was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ; he enjoyed gardening, loved to cook and barbeque. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons, Brock (Elizabeth) Blum of Neenah, Christopher (Mary) Blum of Milwaukee, and Derek Blum of Monroe; parents, Bill and Pauline Blum of Monroe; brothers, Joel Blum and Pete (Erin) Blum, both of Monroe; two grandchildren, Landon and Laylah; nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors; and his faithful dog, Buddy.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018, at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

A memorial fund will be established in Alan's memory.
