Sugar River Girls Win Southern Capitol Dual Championship

The team competed at the Deerfield Classic on May 4th. The boys finished in fourth place and the girls in eighth place.

Boys Results

In the 400m run, Dalton Fahey placed 2nd with a time of 51.90.

Placing 4th in the 3200m run was Adam Nelson, with a PR time of 10:45.00.

In the 110m hurdles, Cole Myers placed 3rd with a time of 15.82. Myers also placed 3rd in the 300m hurdles with a time of 42.13.

The 4x100 relay team of Luke Judd, Nick Schult, JJ Wenger and Milo Hoesly placed 4th, with a time of 46.67.

In the 4x200 relay, the team of Milo Hoesly, Nick Schult, Jared Schulting and JJ Wenger placed 4th with a time of 1:38.22.

In the 4x400 relay, the team of Dalton Fahey, Josh Grebel, Cole Myers and JJ Wenger placed 4th with a time of 3:37.20.

The team of Conor McCoy, Adam Nelson, Caden O’Rourke and Evan Reifert placed 2nd in the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:53.32.

Jacob Shrader won the high jump event with his jump of 6-00.00.

Girls Results

Kiara Donnell won the 100m dash, with a time of 13.19.

In the 1600m run, Tayler Yapp placed 3rd with a PR of 5:54.16.

Placing 3rd in the 300m hurdles was Emily Bartow, with a time of 50.19.

The 4x100 relay team of Kiara Donnell, Jade Halvensleben, Erin Kittleson and Heidi Wegehaupt placed 2nd with a time of 53.99.

In the 4x200 relay, the team of Erin Kittleson, Jade Halvensleben, Walela Three-Sticks and Heidi Wegehaupt placed 4th with a time of 1:56.57.

In the discus event, Haiden Zimmerman finished in 4th place with a throw of 101-11.

In the triple jump, Walela Three-Sticks finished in 5th place with a PR of 32-05.00.

The team competed in a Quad at Cambridge on Tuesday, May 8th.

“Heading into today’s competition, we knew that it was a winner take all situation for both boys and girls.  Both squads came and competed today and we, as a staff, were pleased for the most part of their efforts,” said Coach Willy Johnson. “The girls were able to win, giving them the Southern Capitol Dual Championship. The guys competed against a very talented Cambridge team, who, at the end of the day, beat us. With that said, we strive to be the best on and off the track and I think our kids accepted and handled the situation extremely well. Now that the dual season is behind us, we can concentrate on Conference and Regionals coming up.”

Boys Results

Dalton Fahey won the 400m run with a time of 51.80. In the 100m dash, Fahey placed 4th with a time of 12.17.

Teammates Caden O’Rourke, Evan Reifert and Conor McCoy took 3rd-5th place in the 800m run. O’Rourke finished with a time of 2:10.44, Reifert finished with a PR of 2:16.17 and McCoy also finished with a PR time, 2:16.83.

In the 1600m run, Adam Nelson finished 3rd with a PR of 4:54.03. Nelson also finished 3rd in the 3200m run, with a time of 10:57.82.

Cole Myers won the 110m hurdles, with a time of 16.80. Myers placed 2nd in the 300m hurdles, with a time of 41.82.

The 4x100 relay team of Milo Hoesly, Luke Judd, Nick Schult and Jared Schulting placed 3rd with a time of 47.34.

In the 4x200 relay, the team of Milo Hoesly, Nick Schult, Jared Schulting and JJ Wenger placed 3rd with a time of 1:38.20.

The team consisting of Josh Grebel, Milo Hoesly, Cole Myers and JJ Wenger placed 3rd in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:44.55.

In the 4x800 relay, the team of Matteo Latorre, Conor McCoy, Caden O’Rourke and Evan Reifert placed 2nd with a time of 10:09.83, while the team of Lucas Fink, Julian Fullbright, Alan Woller and Tyler Stampfl placed 3rd with a time of 10:31.09.

In the shot put event, Sawyer Fahey placed 4th with a PR of 36-02.00 while teammate Eric Segura placed 5th with a throw of 35-07.00.

In the discus event, Jesse Tetner placed 3rd with a throw of 111-07.

In the high jump event, Jacob Shrader placed 3rd with his jump of 5-08.00.

In the long jump event, Jared Schulting placed 4th with his jump of 18-11.25.

Girls Results

Kiara Donnell won the 100m dash, with a time of 13.05. Placing 5th was Heidi Wegehaupt with a time of 14.33.

In the 200m dash, Kiara Donnell placed 3rd with a time of 28.49.

Finishing the 400m run in 1:11.25 was Lily Himmelmann, which was good for 5th place.

In the 800m run, Tayler Yapp placed 4th with a PR time of 2:46.16. Yapp finished 3rd in the 1600m run, with a time of 5:56.48.

In the 3200m run, Gabby Whisler finished 2nd with a time of 13:34.66.

Emily Bartow won the 100m hurdles, with a time of 17.29. Bartow also won the 300m hurdles with a time of 51.34.

The team of Erin Kittleson, Hallie Bartow, Jade Halvensleben and Kiara Donnell finished 2nd in the 4x100 relay with a time of 53.67.

Finishing 2nd in the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:57.32 was the team of Erin Kittleson, Walela Three-Sticks, Hallie Bartow and Heidi Wegehaupt.

In the 4x400 relay, the team of Emily Bartow, Dylan Noll, Lily Himmelmann and Hallie Bartow finished 2nd with a time of 4:39.59.

The team of Kyla Jerome, Libbie Melvin, Molly Molencamp and Nina Schiro finished 2nd in the 4x800 relay with a time of 12:26.07.

In the shot put event, Haiden Zimmerman placed 3rd with a throw of 27-05.00. Zimmerman finished 2nd in the discus event with a throw of 89-10.

In the high jump, Katie Bowers placed 3rd with a jump of 4-06.00 and Lily Himmelmann placed 5th with a jump of 4-04.00.

Heidi Wegehaupt won the pole vault event with a final of 8-00.00. Placing 3rd was Kyla Jerome with a PR of 7-06.00.

In the long jump event, Walela Three-Sticks placed 4th with a 14-04.75, while Jade Halvensleben placed 5th with a 14-02.25. Three-Sticks finished in 5th place in the triple jump with a final of 31-07.00.

The team traveled to a conference meet on May 15th at Lakeside Lutheran, and will compete in Regionals at Turner High School on May 21st, and Sectionals on May 24th at Lancaster.
