The New Glarus winners of this prestigious Top Ten award are: Ellie Eichelkraut - 8th Grade Editorial, Roman Kendrick - 7th Grade Poetry, Aditya Bhattacharya - 6th Grade Poetry, Clem Meter-Brooks - 5th Grade Short Story - 1st Place, Ethan Siegenthaler - Sixth Grade Short Story, Elizabeth Smith - 5th Grade Poetry - 2nd Place.
Six New Glarus middle schoolers are Top Ten winners in the Yahara River Writers Anthology Project. Students in grades 5-8 from 24 school districts in the greater Dane County area participated in this writing and cartooning contest. Out of all of the entries, the committee chooses the top ten entries at each grade level in the categories of short story, cartoon, editorial and poetry. From the top ten, first and second place are awarded.
